Coiwn-tacs, coiwn-tacs...

I can't believe how all the sudden Madie is so into imaginative play! Today she was pulling "things" *insert: absolutely nothing* out of the camera case and giving them to me, then taking them away from me and putting them back in the case. She then pulled out Cody's parents' two labs "Sarah and Allie" *insert again: absolutely nothing* and gave them to me, and I thought I would play with her, and eat them. Oooops, that didn't go over too well. After I told her "mmmmm, yummy" she got quite devastated, almost started crying, and kept repeating "oh NO." Luckily I hadn't swallowed them yet, and was able to spit them out into her hand to save the day.
Later on she came up to me with one of her purses after I told her we need to get ready, and she started pulling out "lips" and "eyes," then she noticed I still had my glasses on, so she pulled out "coiwn-tacs."
Well, I have to go right now, Madie is over at the "kitchen" *aka: our living room end table* mixing me up a batch of "candy" to eat for lunch.
This girl may be quite imaginative, but I have to say she has EXCELLENT taste in lunch cuisine!

Guess which baby?

If you already know who it is, don't ruin for the other 2 people that read my blog.....
Madie and Weston are starting to look more and more alike. Last night I found a picture of Madie and Lilly at the hospital when Lilly was born, so Madie was just over a month old, and it was CRAZY how much our two kiddos look alike! So, I thought a fun little game was in order. Winners get a high five.
*And for those of you out of state, you'll get a virtual high five!*

How am I expected to get anything done?

With a cutie pie like this that loves to snuggle up!

June 18th is the day..... NOT!

On Thursday morning, June 18 we were supposed to call the hospital at 6 a.m. to see what time we were to go in to have our little guy. That night I hardly slept a wink (I think Cody might have gotten a few more minutes of sleep than me, but not by much) in anticipation of what it would be like to just walk into a hospital and have a baby. Well, even scheduled inductions I guess still follow by the old rule of "expect the unexpected." I called at 6:05 (I didn't want to seem anxious or anything) and told them I was scheduled to have a baby that day, to which the lady on the other line replied "I don't have you scheduled for an induction today." So..... to make a long story short, we didn't have a baby that day! It all worked out for the best, though, because Friday we went in and we WERE scheduled, and I slept great the night before, and the labor and delivery went great.

Happy Birthday to ME!

This year I hit the quarter century mark, and what better way to celebrate that half of my twenties are now over than with 2 kiddos in a double stroller. For those of you who know me, I'm sure you're laughing right now because I SWORE I would never have a double stroller. But, I tend to say crazy things regarding parenthood, such as "we aren't having children for a few years" to which Madie answered "haha, try a few months instead!" Anyways, I love my new stroller my mom got me, and it is a jogger- so I can use it to get back in shape.
We also had a great birthday dinner at Red Lobster- oh how I love their cheese biscuits! Madie loved looking at the lobster tank and called them "monsters."
