Busy with bad luck!

We haven't had much time to blog because we've been busy bees lately. We had a great trip to Texas and we even got to bring Grandma back to Utah with us for a while. We also got to celebrate Cash's Birthday- I no longer have a baby, I have a running 1 year old! Now we are celebrating that hopefully all the bad luck is behind us, and a fun summer will be all that is ahead of us for the next few months! Bye bye doctors and deer, HELLO warm weather and water!
Just to recap all the adventures we've had in the last 2 weeks:
6.6.10- Cash had a 103 degree fever all day. Sunday evening we took him to the urgent care in Texas and he had his first ear infection- first one either of the kiddos have ever had.
6.10.10- Madie has a 103 fever and throws up before bed time, so we giver her Tylenol and it goes away in the middle of the night.
6.11.10- Madie's fever is back, but now is 104 degrees- we go back to the same urgent care and find out Madie has viral tonsillitis.
6.13.10- Driving home from Texas I hit a stupid deer just as we cross the Utah-Colorado state line.
6.17.10- I cut my finger open trying to make guacamole, and get 8 stitches in it.
We've also had a great time during this bad luck, though, so there is nothing to complain about. The kids are now healthy, my car is being taken care of by a great body shop, my finger is healing well, and I'm sure there were some animals that loved the deer dinner.

Things Madie and I can't wait for:

Showing Cash just how great Texas is
Showing Grandma how good Cash is walking
Shopping at Southlake with Grandma
Playing in the courtyard at Central Market
Gameroom play time with Mannie at Grandma's house
Warm weather (even if it may reach into the 100's)
Playing in the water first thing in the morning
Texas BBQ
Blue Bell Ice Cream
Not having to work for 11 days
Bringing Grandma home with us for a week to Utah
And so much more--- I better get back to packing so we'll be ready to go!

Chrome dome!

Look who got a haircut!

I Spy...

Why our tummies are so full and happy. But also why we are going to be having bellyaches later today.....

This is only a fraction of the wrappers from the red velvet mini "pupcakes" with cream cheese frosting and red sugar sprinkles we devoured today. Oh so addictive!

91.67%...

Today my little boy is 11/12 a one year old, or 91.67%, or eleven months old. To celebrate I decided to put away all his baby clothes (actually I did this without even knowing the date- I never remember the date while I'm off work) since he is now outgrowing 12-18 month clothes. Where the heck has time gone, and while you are looking for it, can you also look for my little Cash baby! This little boy eats ANYTHING (even apples and bananas, now) and seems like he is ALWAYS smiling!
(and no, he isn't an oompa loompa, he just has carrots all over his face)

Sunny Burns'

How do you NOT love a day like what we had today. Madie and I went to pick up an early birthday present for Cash that Grandma got him, and while we were in the car the thermometer said 80-something. Cash was so excited he couldn't even wait for me to finish putting it together and fill it up with water! This boy was multi-tasking! He was making sure he got his 8 boat cups of water a day all while playing in the sunshine!
Well, since tomorrow the forecast is rainy and 60-something, I guess we will spend the day inside watching the water table fill up with rain water, waiting for another day like today!
Thanks Grandma! Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks and enjoy your warm Texas weather.

Envy.

I am not one to be jealous of my own children {even if Madie's wardrobe is a million times cuter than mine, and includes some summer flip flops I would die to have in my size}. But this: Right now it's 2:30 a.m. and I'm awake. If only I could find that happy place Cash finds so easily with a bottle and his blankie. Just for even several hours to give me enough rest to keep up with the kiddos tomorrow {make that today}! Hopefully all the stars and planets and whatever else will align and we can do family nap time tomorrow!
...at least I have cute pictures to look at!

Right now....

...I should be at work
...my baby is sick.
...I am starting to feel like he is finally on the mend.
...my laundry is almost caught up to just as far behind as it was before I had to do 5 loads of yucky.
...even after having puke on me most of the evening, I couldn't be happier to be a mommy!

Three years ago...

our lives changed forever. Miss Madison was only about 30 minutes old this time three years ago. I can honestly say I never thought anything would put so much joy into my life, make me smile at such simple things, and turn running errands into the most fun trip to Target ever. This Birthday has been much anticipated (we've been talking about Birthdays and cakes for quite some time now) but also very hard on me. Turning one was fun- Madie was growing into a toddler, experiencing new things, and her bubbly little personality was starting to come out so much- we partied it up with cake and tons of balloons. Turning two was a whirlwind- I had just started working full time on the night shift, going to school, and entering my third trimester with our soon to be addition to the family- so I went to work that night after we did a simple dinner at Pei Wei. This year is bittersweet- we've got our family complete with a perfect little girl and boy (a Princess and Prince, as Miss Madison says), my work schedule is amazing (I'm working 3 nights a week, but still full time with all the fabulous benefits) and our lives have calmed down quite a bit, allowing for us to enjoy ourselves- so we will party it up again this year, but not without me being sad. Just this afternoon coming home from gymnastics my little Madie informed me I cannot call her Madie anymore, that a baby name- I need to now call her Madison. So tonight we will again go to Pei Wei to celebrate the birth of an amazing girl, this Saturday we will party it up with friends and family at Nickelcade, and from now on I guess I will be referring to my big girl as "Madison."
